We were just looking at your site, our kitten looks a lot like the cats and kittens pictured here. She is White with grey markings. Her head and ears are grey, one grey spot on her right side and her tail is grey and fluffy. She has all the charateristics of the cats mentioned here on this site. She has a facination with water loves balls of paper, follows me to the washroom all the time. Is there any other way we can tell what breed of cat we have. Carla and Lee Edwards

What a wonderful day at the National Cat Club Show. All the cats, both shown & exhibited in the World of Cats, did themselves proud -(and their owners, slaves!) Thank you everyone who supported us, giving me and I am sure the other owners so much pleasure to be there promoting this wonderful breed. Marianne Upham Yenicizgi Cats

Hello from the Lone Star State. I have greatly enjoyed my first visit to your site. I will make certain to visit again soon. I hope to have a picture of my special cat on the site soon. I don't know if he is a pure Van, as I got him as a stray kitten, but the fact he hopped in the tub with my husband a few weeks after we took him in, we thought it was strange. When we found a book with pictures of Turkish Vans, it was the first time either of us ever heard of the breed. I hope to learn more in the future with the help of your site. Thank you, Jenn Parr (Lady Genevieve de Lironcourt to those in the SCA)

Last summer we found a wonderful cat at the local shelter. we have wondered what breed he is and now we know . thanks to your site we have identified him as a Turkish Van. his markings are more of a gray tone about his head and just a dab of gray on his tail. If anyone knows of the gray markings on other turkish vans please let us know.

What a great site! I just adopted a Turkish Van from a local animal shelter and am so happy with him even on his first night home! He looks kinda like Solitaire, #21 on the slide show.

My turkish van, Dripps, was the most incredible cat. Unfortunately, he had kidney problems and is not with me anymore. They have the neatest personality of all cats. He was a typical van, he loved water and played fetch better than my dog.

Earlier in this Guestbook, I mentioned my two tortoiseshell and white Birman/Turk cross cats (in addition to our Birman and two pure Turks.) One of the torties has been mated with a pure Turk and has produced five adorable kittens. Anyone who is interested in threequarter Turk, one quarter Birman kittens is welcome to contact me. There are two white and auburn females and one white male with black head markings, tail and patches, aged four weeks, still available. They can go to their new homes in early December. As the Organiser of the Poetry/Short Story competition for CTVCA, I'd like to thank everyone who sent in entries - some of you got the details from this Website. The winning entry will be published in the CTVCA magazine, Vantasia, Winter 2002 issue, together with the adjudicator's report and list of winners and those commended. A list of winners will appear on CTVCA's Website and will, of course, be posted to entrants who enclosed an sae. Stella Stocker

Greetings from Jellaby. He adopted his current owner after spending March-July running in a pack (trop, flock . . ?) of abandonned cats which had congregated round the house of a friend, Ann. She had just finished directing Tom Stoppard's "Arcadia" and gave all the cats names from the play. "Chloe" chose her new owner but suffered a name change after a visit to the vet! Jellaby is the butler in the play: very distinguished. We have only just realised that he is a T.V. - our best guess was a hybrid with 20% fox! At one year (approx) his tail was by far the most impressive feature - it is almost a shame he has now grown in to it.

For weeks I've been searching the web for a suitable Cat Breed and I keep coming back to these wonderful pages. I'm hooked and think it is time to meet the real thing. Thank you so much for putting the time and effort in to create this very informative site! Kind regards, Stephanie and her Caprilli Dalmatians

Just to say I enjoyed your website....I have seven Turkish Vans thus far. From Australia... 2 Auburn, 1 cross and from England ....2 Blue and 3 Torties. I think Vans are definitely a breed apart... Do yours go to the toilet and then flush? Do they have specific music likes and dislikes? Will they pull out plugs if one puts on contemporary popular music(classical and nostalgic music only). Do they switch lights on and off and play fetch? Mine do. Is this normal?

I'm delighted to have visited your website !! I didn't know about T.V. cats. I've always brought in stray cats and kittens. At present I have a Siamese cat called Scarlett. She was a gift !! Scarlett does many of the things T.V. cats do, such as climbing into the high part of the cupboards, swinging on the tops of doors and knocking over small objects (she doesn't destroy anything). She also adores playing with crunched up bits of newspaper and is the only cat I've had who'll fetch the ball and bring it back to me, as dogs do. We have geat games together. I'm so glad that you're taking care of abandoned cats. Congratulations on your website. I've greatly enjoyed meeting Turkish Van Cats !! Good luck !! Sylvia

Hello!! I logged on, went to Yahoo and looked up Turkish Van Feline. It referred me to your page, and I visited your photo gallery (adorable!!).I have a very lazy T.V. myself, and she is fully white w/blue eyes. Sassy is seven years old and loves to roll around on the floor. We recently got a cockatiel and named him Freddy. Sassy is not happy with the adoption of this strange creature, but she has not made any suggestions of actually hurting him. She is snoring right now, and I think she is dreaming. SPEAKING OF SLUMBER...... well, I had a wonderful time on your site tonight, and you are welcome to check out mine, too. Oops..I think was a little hard w/the space key: I just woke Sassy up. I have a guestbook, too. Check in soon, cuz it has rad games and tyte quizzes, daily comics, and about 20,000 jokes everyday!! Oh,crap!! I just woke up the bird, too!!!!! Gotta go!! CUL8TER, Allison p.s. cool site!!!!!

I discovered Vans by adopting Franky from a local animal shelter. I'd never heard of the breed until I visited my vet, who informed me about the breed. What a sweetheart! I consider myself very lucky to have found him! He talks all of the time, and exhibits all of the traits found in Vans. I'm sold on the breed and will definitely remain loyal to Vans!
