I've been looking at pictures all over the internet and come to find out i have a turkish van cat her name is Miss. TIgg-TIgg she is 13 years old. When she was little i called her tigger but now she is older her name has changed to a more mature adult cat name. I always thought it was funny when i went to give her a bath she just sat there didn't make a sound or nothing. All the pictures that i've looked at look just like her its crazy

I have a rescue kitty, named Emily, that I believe has Turkish Van roots. She is very affectionate and spunky as detailed in the decription of personality traits. People often remark about her extremely beautiful fur and markings. She does have the auburn ears, and ringtail, with marks on her back, so she is probably not full bred, but she is wonderful. She is 16 and seems to be going strong. I am glad to find your sight, and would love to go to a Turkish Van convention if you have them. I have 3 rescue cats, and love them all, but this kitty is sooo special, I can't help but be very enthusiastic for this breed.

Hi, Denise I read your mail, I suggest you google for breeders in USA, there are a couple in Texas and they should be able to help you. Do a search using Turkish Van cat + Texas.

Jack found us about 9 years ago. He was a scrawny kitten that was 10 weeks old and very neglected. We fixed him up and kept him. I never heard of Turkish Vans and was always amazed by his unusual beauty (as are most people) Just the other day I typed in types of cats on google and there he was. We were always laughing about his fascination with water, from day 1. He is quite a hunter, loves to be outside in his Florida jungle. He adores my wife, likes me, and will have nothing to do with any one else. He was raised with our two dogs (now gone) and kind of acts like a dog. But whenever we try to bring another animal in the house he is VERY unhappy. So, Jack it will be for now. Thanks

I have never seen a rescue where all the animals have found homes. You are amazing! I just learned about the Turkish Van breed, and this fully explains my cat that I rescued from a parking lot as a kitten. She is a beautiful white and obsessed with water.

I own a turkish van cat called 'Jiggers' (Izambaard Zeeta) she is my most precious little girl. She is full sister to Norayr who is a International Champion and Quadruple Grand Champion. Their father is Zurvan. I love the breed so much I intend to preserve the breed by becoming a breeder. My girl jigsy as we call her is pregnant to Marion Upham Tamuuz and I can't wait for the little ones to arrive. Happy Days! Long live the turkish van . Forever and Ever Amen

I had a Turkish Van called Manesha (Min for short). She was a 3-year-old rescued cat whom sadly I was only priviledged to share my life with for 3 years as she was run over by a car and I had to have her put down. She will however live on as she was the inspiration for the main character in my book 'Angel-Kat' which I am publishing in April 2009 and I hope to have another Van in my life when I return to the UK in April 2009

A young black and white cat came crying through our cat door in the pouring rain about 8 years ago. His name, Willie, came from the fact that he was Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain. His favorite place to sleep is in the creek that runs between our two Koi ponds. The only thing he loves as much as petting is giving love bites and head-butts. He is white with black between his ears, three black spots, and a black bush-tail. Imagine our joy when a freind asked us if we had a Turkiish Van last week and we investigated and found out all about WIllie and his wonderful ancestors! Thanks for this great site. Keep up the good work!
