Cassie Rehomed!

We are very pleased to announce another successful rehoming of a needy Turk.  On a bright early-summer's day she started the long trip from the Honey Homes down to her new home in the South of England.

Cassie never got on in her former household, and was easily upset by the family life there.  One thing led to another until it was decided that she would be much happier in a new home away from children.  It was a hard decision to make since she is such a sweet thing.

cassie1.jpg (38924 bytes)Stage one of Cassie's journey started at around 9 o'clock on a quiet Sunday morning, when she was collected from the Honey Homes by Lois and Peter.  There were some tears, a sad parting for Pat who had tended to Cassie during her short stay with her at the Honey Homes, and who in during that time had formed close bonds with Cassie.

Few cats enjoy travelling in cars, and Cassie was no exception, although she was on best behaviour and restricted herself to a few 'reminders', especially when going round bends!  Fortunately most of her journey would be by motorway, so not too many sharp turns.

South Mimms service station on the M25 heralded the end of stage one of her trip, a chance for a short break and a change of vehicle, for it was here that Lois and Peter would handover to Sue and Steve (see picture), who would continue with stage two of Cassie's journey.

Half-an-hour later she was on the road again; she was getting used to travelling by now, but this time she was in a different car with different people, so she could 'demand' some additional fuss - and got it of course!

Another short break an hour later for lunch, although Cassie would have to wait a while longer yet just in case she wasn't happy with the menu.  Then on to the third and final stage of her journey.

Excitement loomed as her new home approached - is it this house, or that house, or perhaps this one?  No, its none of those, we're in the wrong road!  But then we were there, and Cassie left the car for the last time and was taken to inspect her new home and owner.

cassie2.jpg (32816 bytes)Her new owner was a lovely lady, and to say that her and Cassie were made for each other would be an  understatement.  Both were impressed with each other, and after a short tour of the premises (naturally including the top of the kitchen cabinets) Cassie announced her approval by having some food, a drink, followed by a wash and brush-up.   She was settled!

Cassie wasn't the first Turk to live here, and her predecessor was quite the star of the neighbourhood, known by many.  And it seemed that Cassie was set to follow in his footsteps when a neighbour saw her and cried out with surprise and delight.  Yes, Cassie will be very happy here!

The CTVCA has heard back from Cassie's new owner since this day, and we're happy to tell you that she and Cassie continue to build their wonderful relationship, and on that first night together Cassie jumped up onto the bed and cuddled up to her new owner, content in the warmth and safety of her new home!
